ANN ARBOR – After leading Ann Arbor Greenhills’ baseball team to nearly a decade of sustained success, Tom Ward is stepping down.
The longtime head coach announced Friday evening on X he was leaving his position with the Gryphons baseball program.
“I don’t know if I can adequately express what this program has meant to me,” Ward said in his statement on X.
Ward took over as head coach during the 2017-2018 school year and has led Greenhills to four district titles, two regional championships and back-to-back Catholic High School League St. Anne crowns during his tenure.
He guided the Gryphons to a 27-5 record this season, with the 27 victories being a school record for regular season wins.
Ward finished his career with a 127-84 record and earned Ann Arbor-area Coach of the Year honors
