MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Mid-South Pride has announced that Memphis Pride Fest and the Mid-South Pride Parade have been canceled.
In a social media post, the Foundation announced that the decision was made due to the "risk of severe weather."
"This decision wasn’t made lightly, but the safety of our community comes first, always. While we won’t be gathering as planned this weekend, the spirit behind this celebration is still very much alive," they said in the post.
They also announced that the Memphis Pride Parade has been postponed until 2026.
"Why? Because your safety always comes first. Due to today’s weather and conditions along the parade route, continuing with the parade just wouldn’t be safe for attendees, performers, and volunteers," they said in the social media post.
