A man shot by a Multnomah County Sheriff’s deputy near Parkrose High School Friday afternoon fired several rounds in the neighborhood and pointed a gun at officers, the Portland Police Bureau reported.
North Precinct officers responded to reports of two men fighting in the 4600 block of Northeast 116th Avenue at 3:43 p.m., according to the bureau. A suspect was briefly detained, but no crime victim was found. Officers released the suspect and cleared the scene at 4:53 p.m.
At 5:06 p.m., officers responded to a second call in the same block, this time reporting that the man had returned to the street and fired a shot.
