Drivers, bikers and walkers need to avoid the West Seattle swing bridge for two days as Seattle Department of Transportation completes some repairs on Saturday and Sunday.
The swing bridge — also called the low bridge — has undergone a series of upgrades over the past several years. You can find an overview of the project here.
This weekend, SDOT is installing a recently repaired hydraulic cylinder that helps open and close the bridge for passing ships.
The closure began at 7 a.m. Saturday and will remain in effect until SDOT announces the completion of the installation. Look for updates on X.
