The Dodgers on Saturday activated Kirby Yates after the right-hander missed 18 games with a right hamstring strain , and also activated Michael Kopech who was sidelined all season with a right shoulder impingement, adding a pair of high-leverage relievers back into a busy Los Angeles bullpen.

Yates on the season has a 4.34 ERA and 2.91 xERA, and his 22 appearances were two off the major league lead at the time of his injury . That ERA was 2.95 before Yates allowed three runs on May 17 against the Angels , the game in which he suffered the hamstring strain.

With 31 strikeouts against only six walks in his 18⅔ innings, Yates leads all Dodgers pitchers with a 38.8-percent strikeout rate, and his 31.3-percent strikeout-minus-walk rate ranks eighth among all major league pitchers wit
