LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at Redwood Street, north of W. Flamingo Road near South Rainbow Boulevard.

According to evidence at the scene and witness statements, the pedestrian was lying in the middle of Redwood Street when a 2008 Infiniti G35, traveling west on W. Flamingo Road, made a right turn onto Redwood Street and hit the pedestrian.

Medical personnel transported the pedestrian to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival and was pronounced deceased by trauma staff.
