According to Lucas Grabeel , it took a while before he could say that he made it as an actor.

"I knew how lucky I was to have that string of very early success, but after Halloweentown [High], I had to go back to work at Blockbuster," Grabeel, 40, said on the Wednesday, June 4, episode of the "Ned's Declassified" podcast. "[It] was an awful job that I loved. That was a really amazing dose of humility."

Grabeel grew up in Missouri, moving to Los Angeles when he turned 18 to pursue an acting career. Disney Channel's Halloweentown High , which came out in 2004, marked his onscreen debut.
