MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 49-year-old Wisconsin man was sentenced to over seven years in prison on Friday for selling fentanyl pills to an undercover police officer.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin, Arminius D. Jones of Madison was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison for distributing fentanyl and possessing 40 grams or more of fentanyl intended for distribution.
Between May 15 and July 1, 2024, Jones sold fentanyl pills to an undercover officer in Madison on three occasions. On July 9, authorities searched his home and found approximately 7,000 fentanyl pills, money from the undercover sales, more than $2,000 in cash, and multiple digital scales and drug ledgers.
Police also found a handgun, a loaded extended magazine, and several boxes
