Adolescence star Stephen Graham has revealed that he had ‘emergency surgery' performed on a plane after spotting ‘pure blood’.

The Liverpool actor starred in and co-wrote the series that told the story of his 13-year-old son Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) being arrested for the murder of his school classmate Katie Leonard (Emilia Holliday).

Consisting of four episodes, each of the instalments were filmed in one take and discussed themes of misogyny, youth violence and mental health.

Topping Netflix's viewing charts in 93 countries around the world, the series is one of the most acclaimed of the year and is to be shown in schools across the UK.
