HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the south-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands.
The first summer swell is making its way through the state Saturday, bringing dangerous waves for the inexperienced. Check with the lifeguards first and bring lots of sunscreen and reapply!
Surf will be on the way down by Sunday, but waves will remain strong. If you’re surfing on the east shore, it’ll probably stay relatively calm.
However, if you surf on the north-facing shores, you might see some smaller waves, but only in certain areas that are exposed to the wind from the northeast tonight and tomorrow morning.
A great tool to have is our First Alert Weather App and interactive radar.
FIRST ALERT FORECAST : Over the weekend, the trade winds might not be as strong. Thi
