The Boardman softball team lost 3-1 to Holland Springfield in the Division III State Semi Finals in Akron.

The Spartans jumped ahead 1-0 in the second inning, Ellie Wymer doubled scoring Mikayla Rivera.

The Blue Devils scored two in the bottom of the third when Hannah Schlacter doubled scoring Kenya Crowley.

Holland Springfield added two in the fourth inning. Following a triple to right center and a fielders choice to make 2-1, Camryn Hall singled to right center plating Natalie Slavin and a 3-1 lead.

Boardman starter Tori Strines pitched 3 2/3 giving up the three runs on five hits. She threw 69 pitches with 44 of them strikes.

Boardman made its fourth appearance in the final four and their first since 2002. They finish the season 25-5.
