As the House v. NCAA settlement , which allows schools to share revenue with college athletes directly for the first time, lurched toward approval, Alabama was always planning to be a full participant. Colleges are allowed to pay around $20.5 million this year.
On Saturday, one day after the settlement was finally approved by judge Claudia Wilken, UA athletics director Greg Byrne confirmed the Crimson Tide will adapt to the changes.
“One of the biggest transformational changes in college athletics is upon us,” Byrne wrote in a statement posted to social media Saturday morning . “And Alabama Athletics has been planning for this day and making decisions that best position our department for long term success. Approval of the House settlement offers stability going forward, which is s
