The top four stories on The New York Times' website Friday morning were about the Donald Trump-Elon Musk breakup. The story was at the top of Drudge. The Washington Post had this headline on one story in its breathless coverage, and we aren't kidding:

You'd be forgiven if you don't care as much about this bromance breakup as the national media apparently does. There are bigger things to worry about. There are smaller things to worry about.

Some of us were hopeful for Mr. Musk's DOGE office/service/chore. The Department of Government Efficiency sounded like an oxymoron, but there have been similar efforts in the past.
