A teenager was sentenced to prison last week after admitting to a part in the 2023 carjacking and fatal shooting of an Iraqi refugee in Arapahoe County, according to court records.

Raydon Collins, 19, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and two violent-crime sentence enhancers following the shooting death of Ahmed Zainuldeen.

Collins took a deal in February that included guilty pleas to one of the robbery charges and one sentence enhancer, while the more serious charges were dismissed. He was sentenced May 30 to five years in Colorado’s Youthful Offender System and 13 years in prison, with credit for 476 days served.
