Prime Video subscribers are up in arms as a gripping new drama series has been axed after just one season.

The dance dramedy Étoile, penned by Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel writers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, won't be returning for a second series, much to the disappointment of fans.

Despite originally being commissioned for two series by the streaming service, the cancellation has left viewers particularly frustrated.

Set in both New York and Paris, the series features Luke Kirby as Jack McMillan and Charlotte Gainsbourg as Geneviève Lavigne, two artistic directors of prestigious ballet schools who decide to exchange their most talented stars in an attempt to save their companies.
