ARKANSAS — In light of recent rainfall, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has begun spillway releases at Beaver Dam near Eureka Springs to evacuate flood storage.

The spillway release combined with hydropower is around 7,200 cubic feet per second, according to a Corps social media post.

Carrying a rich history, Beaver was one of the first Corps of Engineers reservoirs in the United States to provide for municipal and industrial water supply.
