MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) is thrilled to announce the 37th Annual Heritage Days Festival on July 11 and 12.

This year's event, themed "Y2K," will honor the class of 2000's 25-year reunion with a celebration of the millennium's history, fashion, and music.

Jessie Thurn, CDG director, expressed excitement about the event, saying, "As an alumnus of Mount Vernon, it’s been a special and eye-opening experience to be involved in the planning of Heritage Days."

Festivities begin on Friday, July 11, at 5 p.m. at the Lester Buresh Community Family Wellness Center with inflatables, games, and food trucks. The evening will feature a Kids Fun Run and a Drone Show by Starlight Aerial Productions.
