Police say a Cambridge woman was killed in a crash on Highway 401 in Milton on Saturday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police said the two-vehicle collision occurred shortly after 10 a.m. in the eastbound express lanes near where they begin east of James Snow Parkway.

In a post on X, police said a 40-year-old woman driving east struck the guide rail, and the vehicle was then struck by an eastbound pickup truck.

The woman was pronounced dead, and her six-year-old daughter was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The four people in the pickup truck weren’t hurt.

The eastbound express lanes are closed for the investigation, and motorists are being directed into the collector lanes.

Any witnesses are asked to call Mississauga OPP at 905-858-8670.
