LSU left-handed pitcher Kade Anderson had an early scare in Game 1 of the Baton Rouge super regional against West Virginia.
Anderson got hit on his throwing arm by a line drive from West Virginia second baseman Gavin Kelly, setting up first and second with no outs for the Mountaineers after designated hitter Sam White recorded a leadoff single. Anderson stayed in the game after getting checked out by LSU's staff.
A sacrifice bunt by West Virginia center fielder Skylar King set up second and third and one out. Right fielder Jace Reinhart grounded out to third base to get White across the plate for a 1-0 lead, with Kelly advancing to third base.
Anderson got out of the inning with only one run allowed after striking out West Virginia first baseman Ben Lumsden to end the inning.
