KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Trey Reaves is hoping to set a record and paddle the entire 652 mile stretch of the Tennessee River in just seven days time.

“It definitely is a lot, I’m not gonna sit here and be like ‘oh 652 miles, no problem’,” Reaves said.

Reaves said he plans to sleep for four hours every day from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Whenever he stops, he said it will only be for 10-15 minutes and then going right back into the water to avoid getting sore.

Reaves said maintaining pace is the key to completing the journey.

“[Saturday], I’m going to do 120 miles, get down below Watt’s Bar Dam, and then it’s 100 miles a day after that every day until we get done,” Reaves said.
