The officer who died was identified as 36-year-old Krystal Rivera. She is survived by a 10-year-old daughter. In a statement Friday, police say the partner was the only person who fired a weapon at the scene. And they say a squad car carrying Rivera to the hospital crashed and caught on fire Thursday night before she was transported in another vehicle.
