BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Interactive sidewalk art is popping up around downtown Bismarck in an effort by the city and local artists to promote beautifying public spaces and encourage physical activity.
These permanent creations are being called ‘Movement Mazes.’ They’re walkable designs intended to inspire the public to play and converse.
The artists behind the design on the corner of Fourth St. and Broadway Ave. were influenced by pollinators.
“The idea was to incorporate pollinator plants and pollinators and then incorporate movement, and just bring joy to the downtown. So, it kind of helps with mental health, and it helps with physical health,” said Lynae Hanson, the mother of the mother-daughter (Madelyn Monzelowsky) artist team who crafted the pollinator maze.
