OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Veterans in Ocala received support at an event held at Kingdom Revival Church. The “Veteran Stand Down” aimed to provide services, including medical checkups and dental care, to assist veterans who face challenges such as homelessness and limited access to healthcare.
“It’s great; I mean, I wish I could do it for everybody. I’m a giver, not a taker. I help people who are down in the mud,” said Sevn LoFlanne, a veteran.
The event offered free medical and dental screenings, haircuts, clothing, and resources to help veterans get back on their feet.
“There is a misconception that all vets have 100 percent benefits, but that’s not true when it comes to healthcare, especially dental services. We are here to act as a safety net to address their dental needs and hopefully g
