JEFFERSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) announced Saturday that they are investigating an officer-involved shooting involving several agencies in Jefferson County.

The shooting reportedly happened on Crosby Road.

According to MBI, the agencies involved were the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a local hospital about a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, according to MBI.

Officers gathered information from the injured woman and went to a residence.

When officers arrived, the suspect displayed a gun, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and law enforcement officers.
