Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey will miss the start of the 2025-26 NBA season due to an ankle injury. ESPN’s Shams Charania is reporting that Edey re-sprained his already-injured ankle and has already undergone surgery to stabilize the injury. Recovery is expected to last beyond the October season debut next year.
The 7’2 rookie played 66 games for Memphis last season, averaging 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game, shooting 58.0% from the floor and 34.5% from the three-point arc. The Grizzlies finished with a 48-34 record, good for 8th in the NBA’s Western Conference.
