A mudslide in Pigeon Forge has trapped some visitors as crews work to clean up the roadways.

Pigeon Forge Police Department tells NBC affiliate WBIR10 that officials responded to the Ridgetop Resort around 6:15am on Friday. Officials say the mudslide most likely came from a water leak above a slide in the resort.

Donita Estep, a visitor staying in the cabins with her family, says they were getting ready to leave after their trip from Virginia, but the mudslide blocked the road to get off the mountain. She says the water leak came from a cabin next to theirs.

Crews reportedly cleared a path down the mountain around noon, ending a 6-hour entrapment for the tourists.
