An ex-EastEnders star has claimed his former castmates ‘wouldn’t last two minutes outside’ of the BBC soap.

It’s been a frantic period for the popular series, which is in the midst of celebrating its 40th anniversary year .

Several stars have left Albert Square, with James Bye, Patsy Palmer and Natalie Cassidy all bidding farewell.

On top of this, Lacey Turner, Clair Norris and Matthew James Morrison are all confirmed to be leaving in the coming months.

Despite all of this, EastEnders is in a strong position, winning a staggering eight awards at the British Soap Awards 2025 , including Best Soap.

While fans voted EastEnders ahead of its rival soaps, a former cast member didn’t provide glowing words when opening up about the series.
