The National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning at 10:47 a.m. on Saturday in effect until 12:15 p.m. for Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.

"At 10:47 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," states the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."

Locations impacted by the warning include Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Pittston, Dunmore, Old Forge, Moosic, Edwardsville, Luzerne, West Wyoming, Moscow, Sugar Notch, Elmhurst, Bear Creek Village, Glendale, Penobscot, Fairview Heights, Mount
