A 16-year old boy from Versailles was killed Friday night in a crash off of U.S. 54 in Miller County.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10 p.m. when the teenager's car was parked along the eastbound shoulder of the highway.

However, the left front and rear tires of his vehicle were in the lane of travel, and another vehicle struck the rear of his vehicle, the report said.

The 16-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene around 20 minutes later, according to the report.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained no injuries, according to the report.
