BUFFALO, N.Y. — Once again, an Air Quality Alert has been issued for Western New York until Sunday night.
The alert runs until 11:59 p.m. Sunday and includes the entire region: Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation issued the Air Quality Health Advisory for fine particulates in the air.
According to officials, the air quality levels in the outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index (AQI) value of 100 for Fine Particulates.
The AQI measures levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern is.
