Syracuse, N.Y. — The Jamesville-DeWitt boys lacrosse team took a very short business trip Saturday afternoon and accomplished its goal with impressive efficiency.

The Red Rams packed their briefcases and walked off the Cicero-North Syracuse field with a deserved sense of satisfaction. For sure, the bottom line result beat the alternative.

But outright joy was stored away for another day. That’s not what J-D is about, at least not yet.

Lucas Patchen scored five goals and Ryan Babikan added four more to pace J-D to a 16-5 win over Section V’s Honeoye Falls-Lima in a state Class C quarterfinal game.

The contest was over by the end of the first quarter, by which time J-D had built a 6-2 lead. The Red Rams’ 14-2 cushion by intermission set up running time for the second half.
