SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport Fire Department rescued a person from a fire Saturday morning (June 7) after a report of heavy smoke coming from a building.
Just after 10:30 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a quadplex residential structure in the 600 block of Stoner Avenue. Upon arriving about four minutes after the call, firefighters discovered a male trapped inside one of the apartments. They were able to rescue him through a window.
Fire crews then then launched an aggressive interior attack, quickly locating the fire at the rear of the structure, according to SFD officials. The fire was contained and extinguished by 10:55 a.m. A total of eight fire units, including 27 firefighters and support personnel, responded to the incident.
