SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Saturday is a First Alert Weather Day .

Heat index values reached the lower triple digits this afternoon with a few areas cooling off due to isolated thunderstorms. Severe weather will be possible into the evening as a weakening storm system approaches us from the west. Damaging wind will be the main threat along with the heavy rain and lightning. Communities along and north of I-16 are under a “slight risk” for severe weather. If this system holds, this line of storms would not move into our western communities until after sunset with some convection possibly lasting until around midnight.

Sunday is also a First Alert Weather Day .
