COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The College Station ISD Board of Trustees met in a special meeting Friday following Governor Greg Abbott signing a public education funding package into law Wednesday.

House Bill 2 allocates $8.5 billion in new funding to public schools. Supporters refer to it as a ‘historic’ investment into Texas public schools.

However, Wilson said the most exciting portion of the public education funding package is the pay raises for teachers.
