HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut Office of Health’s Alternate Route to Certification program has earned national accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, or CAEP.

Gov. Ned Lamont announced Friday that the ARC program received the distinction for its continued excellence and impact in preparing high-quality educators to teach Connecticut students.

As he extended his congratulations to the program and Office of Higher Education, Lamont said the recognition affirms what many in Connecticut already know.

“Offering a rigorous, time-condensed route to certification increases the number of qualified teachers in our classrooms and helps to build a more diverse, dynamic and experienced educator workforce,” Lamont said.
