EMMAUS — Despite allowing four unanswered goals to close the third quarter Saturday, defending PIAA Class 2A boys lacrosse champion Marple Newtown quickly resumed control in the fourth quarter and cruised to a 17-6 quarterfinal round victory over Scranton Prep at Emmaus High.

Marple Newtown moves on to the semifinals, where it will face District 3’s Lampeter-Strasburg.

“We were two different teams,” Scranton Prep head coach Keith Toolan said. “I’m proud of the kids. They never quit.”

Ryan Keating got the Tigers started, scoring only 40 seconds into the game, then netting another goal with 9:55 remaining in the quarter.
