HOUSTON — Three people were taken to a hospital after someone sprayed mace on board a METRORail Wednesday afternoon, according to METRO officials.
It happened around 1:40 p.m. on the Red Line on Preston Street in downtown Houston.
METRO confirmed the chemical sprayed on the train was civilian aerosol mace. Three passengers were exposed and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
On Saturday, authorities identified the person they said is responsible as 62-year-old Garland Wayne Bailey. They said he was arrested and charged with two counts of assault injury to a disabled person and two counts of assault causing bodily injury.
