DAVENPORT, Iowa. (KWQC) - The Davenport Public Library kicked off its summer reading challenge and programs with Touch-a-Truck on Saturday.

Attendees could see vehicles from the Davenport fire, police and public works departments, along with the library’s Outreach Wheeled Library and more, according to the library’s website .

People could also learn about some of the vehicle’s history and draw with sidewalk chalk.

The event was from 10:30-12 p.m. at the Davenport Public Library Fairmount.

A sensory-friendly version, with no music or horn honking, was held from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
