BETHANY, Ore. (KATU) — Early this morning, a fire erupted at a multi-family housing complex on Northwest Chemeketa Lane, displacing at least ten residents.

The blaze was reported at 3:28 a.m. when multiple 911 callers awoke to alarms and visible flames.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire on the exterior of the apartment building. They began extinguishing the flames, which had spread into the building.

With assistance from Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, crews pulled three attack lines and brought the fire under control within 25 minutes.

All residents were confirmed to have evacuated safely, and one person received treatment at the scene from American Medical Response. In total, three units were affected by the fire.
