Families gathered at Prado Regional Park on Saturday, June 7, for fishing and learning.

The day-long Family Fish & Wildlife Festival at the Chino park was equal parts learning and fun on a warm late-spring day.

The event, which organizers say had nearly 3,000 participants last year, is intended for all ages.

Fishing workshops introduce “the skill of fishing,” the event’s website says. Those who came Saturday also could practice casting and learn what is needed to fish — supplies provided, according to the website.

Nature demonstrations, wildlife exhibits, live music and other vendor and food booths were also part of the day’s activities.
