PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue ( TVF&R ) enacted a Temporary High-Fire Danger Burn Ban at 7 a.m. Friday due to increased wildfire risk.
The ban, authorized by law, prohibits all forms of open burning. This includes backyard and debris burning, agricultural burning, and land clearing or controlled fires.
The restrictions do not apply to small recreational or cooking fires, such as those in fire pits or campfires, provided the flames remain under three feet in diameter and two feet in height. Barbeques, smokers, and other outdoor cooking appliances using dry wood, briquettes, or gas fuels are also allowed.
TVF&R officials warned that any outdoor fire in violation of the ban may be immediately extinguished. People who willfully ignore the ban could be held financial
