WEST HAVEN, Utah (KUTV) — Prevedel Park in West Haven is closed indefinitely after a “fast-moving grass fire” burned five acres of land.

Weber Fire District crews responded to a grass fire that was quickly spreading through the park at about 7:45 p.m. Friday. With help from surrounding agencies, crews evacuated four campers who were trapped by the fire and worked to suppress the flames.

Officials said “thick black smoke was visible from a distance,” as the fire blazed through the grassy area.
