“100 Years of Power” will go on display Friday, June 13, at the Loveland Museum, 503 N. Lincoln Ave.

The multimedia exhibit celebrates the centennial of electric power in the city of Loveland.

In 1925, Loveland Light and Power (now Loveland Water and Power) began generating electricity at the newly constructed Idylwilde Hydroplant in the Big Thompson Canyon. A 22,000-volt transmission line carried this power to residents, lighting up the community for the first time.

Today, Loveland Water and Power serves over 42,000 homes and businesses across a 74-square-mile area.

The exhibit will run through Oct. 18 in the Dunning Gallery.

An opening reception will be held at 6-8 p.m. June 13 during Night on the Town.

Also going on display June 13 will be “Clay Prints” by Chris Wanne.
