MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - One man was arrested after fleeing from Manitowoc County deputies following a crash.

On Friday evening, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an SUV that was driving erratically on I-43 northbound near Fischer Creek Road. Deputies attempted a traffic stop near Rockwood Road, but the driver did not stop, instead accelerating to nearly 110 MPH and exiting I-43 at Exit 157.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Milwaukee, then crashed into the support poles of the Shell gas station sign on Highway V and fled the scene on foot. After a short search, the driver was located and taken into custody.
