KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Widespread showers and thunderstorms will fade away later in the evening, with a period of quieter weather, featuring mostly cloudy skies and mild temperatures. Toward daybreak, scattered showers will develop with above normal low temperatures, in the moist environment around the area tonight. Lows will end up in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

SUNDAY: The early morning showers will largely dissipate by late morning, as some drier and more stable air builds in behind the weak frontal boundary that generated the area of light rain. While a few more showers and even a thunderstorm may pop up over the Cumberland Plateau into the afternoon hours, most of us in the valley will see a return to mostly sunny skies.
