SAN ANTONIO — A family is seeking answers after George Macias’s body was found at Woodlawn Lake in late May.

The medical examiner and authorities have yet to determine what caused his death, but his family isn’t giving up.

His family held a fundraiser Saturday to raise money in order to pay for his funeral costs.

"He was thinking of the next step of life, he was just trying to figure it out, he was 18 and had just turned 18," George's mother, Betsabeth Vallecillo, said.

It should have been the beginning of Vallecillo's son's adult life. She had just recently moved them across town.

"I wanted better, I wanted more," she said.

She said he enjoyed family, anime and was a good-hearted kid. She and her family wanted George to live a fulfilling life.
