TROIS-RIVIÈRES, Qué. — Toledo's three-decade long pro hockey title drought will continue after the Walleye were eliminated in the Kelly Cup Finals at the hands of the Trois-Rivières Lions and their sensational young goaltender.
The Walleye won the first game of the best-of-7 series but Trois-Rivières won the next four in a row to claim the 2024-25 ECHL championship.
The Lions scored first once again in Game 5 on Saturday night before a capacity crowd of 4,777 at Colisée Vidéotron. and that was all that goaltender Luke Cavallin would need as T-R won 4-1.
