TUALATIN, Ore. (KATU) — Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) has implemented a Temporary High-Fire Danger Burn Ban effective as of 7 a.m. today.

The ban prohibits various types of burning activities due to heightened fire risk.

The restrictions include backyard or open burning of branches and yard debris, agricultural burning of wastes and crops, and any land clearing, slash, stump, waste, debris, or controlled burning.

However, the ban does not extend to small outdoor cooking, warming, or recreational fires. These are permitted in portable or permanent fire pits, fire tables, and campfires, provided they have a maximum fuel area of three feet in diameter and two feet in height, are situated safely away from combustibles or vegetation, and are fully extinguished after use.
