The young Big Bear Lake bald eagle made the bold move Saturday morning, June 7 — days after her sister Sunny took her first flight Monday, June 2 .

The big moment came on the day Gizmo turned 13 weeks old, according to the nonprofit Friends of Big Bear Valley.

It wasn’t necessarily pretty.

After stretching and flapping her wings, Gizmo tried to get to another branch in the tree overlooking Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains.
