Love Island has counsellors on stand-by at the show’s villa 24 hours a day. Bosses are making sure contestants have access to mental health support at all times over fears for their wellbeing.

The show is famed for being so dramatic that it’s difficult to cope with. Executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter told the Daily Star Sunday: “We always have a psychologist on site. Our welfare is second to none. It is very robust.” ‌
